Chapter 2.3 - Safety & Security
Weather at Jilakin Rock City can change quickly. Prepare for heat, strong winds, dust and storms, and don't assume conditions will remain comfortable throughout the event.
Secure your camp. Properly anchor tents, marquees, shade structures and loose equipment. Check them regularly, particularly when conditions change.
Prepare for heat. Drink water regularly, seek shade and take breaks from physical activity.
Protect yourself from dust. Bring suitable eye protection and a dust mask or respirator for dusty conditions.
Watch the weather. Pay attention to event announcements and instructions from crew.
Act early. If conditions become dangerous, secure what you can safely secure and follow directions from event crew.
Don't put yourself at risk trying to save equipment or belongings. Your safety comes first.
