Back on the Road — Blazing Swan

All good things must come to an end, and it's time to pack up, say your goodbyes and make your way home safely.

Be ready to leave: Pack up your camp and leave the Event site by 12:00 pm (midday) on Tuesday. Rangers and Event Managers will be checking in with General Camping to make sure everyone is packing up.
Pack your vehicle safely: Distribute weight evenly, secure your load and double-check that everything is stowed safely before setting off.
Check your vehicle: Your vehicle may not be in the same condition as when you arrived. Before setting off, check your tyres for punctures or damage, clean your windscreen and windows so you can see clearly, and make sure your lights, mirrors and brakes are in good condition. Check how much fuel you have.
Say goodbye: Our Leavers Crew will be there to farewell you as you head out. Give them a wave and thank them for helping get everyone on their way.
Dispose of rubbish responsibly: The wonderful Kulin community often hosts a Rubbish Drop - where you can leave your rubbish in exchange for a donation. Annoucements about this will be made closer to the event. If you don't use the Rubbish Drop, take all your rubbish home with you. Do not fill public bins or dump rubbish in small regional communities along the highway.
Plan your journey: Make sure your designated driver is well-rested and ready for the drive. If you're heading west towards Perth or Fremantle, be aware that roads may be busy and you may be driving directly into the sun.
Take your time: Don't rush to get home - Blazing Swan runs on a long weekend, police will be out and it’s double demerits. Pull over for a break if you're tired, and consider stopping at a suitable campsite along the way if you need a proper rest.
Look out for your people: Where possible, travel in convoy with friends. You can keep an eye on each other, share breaks and provide a little moral support as the dust settles.

The Event might be over, but looking after each other doesn't stop at the gate.

Get home safely, and we'll see you on the next adventure!
