Jilakin Rock City is not immune to the risks associated with alcohol and other drug use. All Western Australian and Commonwealth laws apply at Blazing Swan.
Blazing Swan encourages harm reduction and asks everyone to look after themselves and each other.
Stay hydrated. Carry water with you and drink regularly. In hot weather or when you're physically active, you may also need electrolytes. Alcohol is not a substitute for water.
Eat well. Make time for nourishing meals and snacks throughout the day.
Get enough sleep. Jilakin Rock City can be an exciting and stimulating place. Give your body and mind time to rest and recharge.
Look out for your mates. Use a buddy system, check in with each other and make sure nobody is left alone if they're unwell or overly intoxicated.
Know what you're taking. If you don't know what's in something, the safest option is not to consume it. If you think you've been given a substance without your knowledge, seek medical help immediately.
Drink responsibly. Know your limits, pace yourself and recognise when you or someone else needs help.
If someone appears unwell, confused or dangerously intoxicated, check on them and get help. Don't wait for a situation to become critical.
If you or someone else needs help, contact a Ranger or the Medical Team immediately.
In an emergency, call 000.
Jilakin Rock City is our community. We all have a role to play in keeping each other safe.
