Before participants set up camp, explore the city, or experience their first piece of art, they need to arrive safely, find their way, and understand where they are.
Our Gate, Greeters & Traffic crews help to make that happen.
From checking tickets as you enter the event to managing the movement of vehicles to our camping areas, and onto welcoming participants into the world of Blazing Swan, these crews play an important role in setting the tone for the entire experience.
Gate
The Gate is where the outside world ends and Blazing Swan begins.
The Gate crew is responsible for checking participants in, validating tickets, managing arrivals, and making sure everyone entering the event has what they need to get started. It's a busy role that combines practical processes with plenty of human interaction.
Gate volunteers help keep arrivals moving smoothly while providing a friendly, helpful first point of contact for participants arriving at the event.
The Legends of Traffic
Getting thousands of people and vehicles safely into our temporary city takes planning and coordination.
The Legends of Traffic help manage the flow of vehicles during arrival, directing participants and helping ensure roads, gates, and key access points operate safely and efficiently.
It's a practical role that requires clear communication, awareness, and the ability to remain calm when things get busy.
Traffic volunteers may assist with:
Managing vehicle movements
Maintaining safe access routes
Providing directions and information
Supporting other Gate and event operations
Greeters
For many participants, Greeters are their first real interaction with Blazing Swan.
Greeters welcome new arrivals and help introduce them to the culture, principles, and expectations of the event.
It's an opportunity to help participants pause, take a breath, and transition from the outside default world into our temporary city they are about to help create.
Our Greeters aim to help to make everyone feel welcome and help set the tone for the experience ahead.
Greeters may:
