We hope you won't need them, but our medical crew are here to help. Blazing Swan has trained medical personnel on site 24/7, including paramedics, critical care paramedics and first aid volunteers. The Medical Clinic is located at Camp Hart, with a doctor available by phone for support around the clock.

In a medical emergency:

  1. Shout “Medical Emergency!” to alert people nearby.

  2. Call for help on a UHF radio (Rangers and Theme Camp crews have radios) or dial 000.

  3. Send someone to the Medical Clinic at Camp Hart to alert the medical team.

Don't leave the person alone if you can avoid it. If possible, send someone to guide responders to the location.

For non-emergency medical or psychological support, visit the Medical Clinic or ask a Ranger or crew member for assistance. Please don't attempt to treat anything beyond your abilities.

Ambulance services are available if hospital transport is required, with the Royal Flying Doctor Service available for critical emergencies.

Plan ahead

Medical and ambulance services in rural areas can be expensive. Check your ambulance cover and health insurance before arriving, including whether you're covered outside your home state.

If you're travelling from overseas, make sure your travel insurance covers medical treatment and ambulance transport in Australia.

Bring any prescription medication you need for your entire stay and keep it secure. If you have a serious medical condition or allergy, wear a medical alert bracelet or necklace and consider introducing yourself to the medical team when you arrive. If you carry an EpiPen, bring it with you and make sure someone you're camping with knows where it is.
