Blazing Swan & Burning Man
Blazing Swan is a Regional Burning Man event and part of the global network of communities inspired by the culture and principles of Burning Man.
Burning Man began on the West coast of the United States in 1986 and over the years, has grown into an international movement centred around participation, creativity, self-expression, self-reliance, gifting, and communal effort. Around the world, independent communities have adapted these principles to create their own regional events, each shaped by the people, culture, and environment of their local communities.
Blazing Swan is Western Australia's regional Burning Man event. While inspired by the same principles and cultural foundations, it is organised, funded, and operated independently by our local volunteer community.
Like Burning Man, Blazing Swan is a participant-created event. There are no spectators, no commercial sponsorships, and no curated entertainment program. The experiences, art, performances, theme camps, and connections that emerge each year are created by the people who attend.
While the principles provide a shared foundation, Blazing Swan has developed its own identity over more than a decade of growth. It reflects the unique creativity, challenges, landscapes, and communities of Western Australia while remaining connected to a wider global network of Regional Burning Man events.
Whether you've attended Burning Man, other regional burns or one of our Australian burn siblings before, or are discovering our culture for the first time, Blazing Swan offers an opportunity to contribute, participate, and help create something extraordinary together.
