Tickets FAQ

How do I buy a ticket?

To purchase a regular Adult Ticket, click on the ticket purchase links on this page.  They will take you to the Humanitix ticket selling website.  You will be able to purchase up to 2 Adult tickets.

WHEN YOU PURCHASE A TICKET YOU MUST SPECIFY THE NAME OF THE PERSON WHO IS GOING TO GO THROUGH THE GATE WITH THAT TICKET.  If you are buying a pair of tickets you CAN NOT use your own name twice.  One of those two tickets will be invalid.  It is not sufficient that the other person is with you when you go through the Gate.  Their tickets MUST be in their NAME.   Please get this right ‘first time’.   It could cost you in ticket handling fees to have this corrected.

When you have purchased the ticket(s) in Humanitix they will be sent to the email address you have specified.

If you are a Volunteer, Theme Camp crew, Art Work crew, Mutant Vehicle crew, Association Member or Volunteer Guest you will receive instructions from Blazing Swan.

You will be able to find tickets for sale on the Tixel Ticket Reseller site.  Be aware that any ticket sold there above face value will be cancelled by us.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND purchasing tickets from any other online sites or from strangers in the street!  Every year we hear reports of people being scammed.  If you are scammed you can let us, and Scamwatch, know and we will warn other people.  But you will have to contact the Police if you wish to take action against the scammer.  You might also contact your bank or credit card provider.

How many tickets can I buy?

You can purchase a maximum of 2 Adult tickets in any one transaction.  You MUST specify the names of the people who are going to go through the Gate with each of those tickets.  You CAN NOT use your own name twice on those tickets.  One of those two tickets will be invalid.  See below for ‘How do I change the name on my ticket’.

After you purchase your Adult ticket you can contact Blazing Swan if you need additional tickets for Children or Carers.

To contact Blazing Swan, use the ‘Contact Host’ option on the Humanitix Blazing Swan Event page.

Can I buy tickets for my Children?

Yes.  If you are purchasing an Adult you will see an option in Humanitix to purchase tickets for your children as well.

Tickets for Children between 12 and 17 years of age are $100 each.  Tickets for Children under 12 are free, but they MUST have a ticket or they will not be admitted to the Event.

Blazing Swan is an all ages event. Anyone under 18 years old must be under the supervision of their parent or legal guardian at all times.  Blazing Swan will provide anyone under 18 with a special wristband which must not be removed or defaced for the duration of the Event.

Any person under 18 attempting to obtain alcohol, and any person under 18 drinking alcohol, may be asked to leave the event along with their parents or guardians and siblings.

There are some Adult themed areas and activities at Blazing Swan.  These will be signposted and described as such in our ‘Where’s the Fun’ guide book.  Under 18’s are not permitteed to enter into these areas or partake in these activities.

I am under 18 years of age, can I buy a ticket?

NO.  All under 18 and under 12 tickets can only be purchased WITH an adult ticket purchased by the parent or legal guardian.

My Child turns 12 or 18 during the Event, do I need to pay more?

NO.  The Ticket Type and price is set according to how old your Child is on the first day of the Event, 27 March 2024 – even if you didn’t come through the Gate on that date.  Whatever you paid is good for the seven days.

HOWEVER, any child turning 18 during the Event will need to have Blazing Swan replace their Children Wristband with a properly issued Adult Wristband on the appropriate day.  Parents/Guardians can contact a Ranger or Centre Kiosk to get someone to help them.

And Happy Birthday – in advance !

I am disabled and need to come with a carer. Can I get a ticket for them?

If you are disabled and have purchased an Adult ticket you can contact Blazing Swan and talk with us about purchasing additional tickets for your eligible carer.  We will talk through some things with you and once we have established eligibility we will send you a code that you can use to purchase Carer’s tickets from Humanitix.

Depending on the nature of the care relationship your carer might receive their ticket for free – but they will still need a ticket.  Blazing Swan follows WA State Government advice in identifying Carers who are eligible for free tickets.  Please contact us to discuss your situation.

To contact Blazing Swan, use the ‘Contact Host’ option on the Humanitix Blazing Swan Event page and briefly explain what you need.

Can I buy tickets at the Event Gate?

NO.  There are no Gate Ticket Sales.  Our Gate does not handle or keep cash.

Will tickets sell out?

The first round of Blazing Swan 2023 tickets sold out in less than two hours.  The next round of tickets goes on sale at noon (AWST) on January 14th 2024.

I have been accepted as a volunteer, do I need to puchase a ticket?

If you have been accepted as a volunteer and have attended and performed satisfactorily in our training you will be offered a Volunteer Ticket.  This ticket will be issued in your name and it can not be sold or transferred except back to Blazing Swan.

If you are a volunteer and plan on attending our Event with a partner who is NOT volunteering, your partner(s) will need to purchase a Ticket at the regular price.   We can not guarantee that such a ticket will be available at the time you attempt to make that purchase.  We recommend that the partner(s) of volunteers also apply to volunteer with us.

If you are a volunteer and plan to bring your under 18 children please contact your Team Lead or the Volunteer Manager.  Please note that children under the age of 18 are not permitted on the Event site prior to Event opening or after Event closing.

I am a Theme Camp crew member, Art Work crew member, Mutant Vehicle crew member or Blazing Swan Association Member, do i need to purchase a ticket?

If you are a registered crew member of a Theme Camp or Art Work or Mutant Vehicle that is registered with Blazing Swan, or a Blazing Swan Association Member on the date that the First Ticket Round opens, you will be offered a Ticket at a discount to the regular price.  This ticket will be issued in your name and it can not be sold or transferred except back to Blazing Swan.

If you are offered a Ticket in any of these categories and your partner(s) is not, your partner(s) will need to purchase a Ticket at the regular price.   We can not guarantee that such a ticket will be available at the time you attempt to make that purchase.  We recommend in these cases that your partner consider volunteering with us.

If you are a Theme Camp crew member you might want to consider volunteering with us AS WELL.  This way you could be eligible for a volunteering ticket which takes the pressure off your Theme Camp to find scarce Theme Camps tickets.  Talk to your Theme Camp Lead about this option.

If you are offered a Ticket in any of thes categories and you plan to bring your under 18 children please contact Blazing Swan.  Please note that children under the age of 18 are not permitted on the Event worksite prior to Event opening at noon on Wednesday 27 April 2023, or after Event closing at noon on Tuesday 2 April 2023.

What else can I do to get a ticket?

There are other options to buying a ticket in the public sale at Humanitix

You can try to purchase a ticket through the ticket reseller Tixel.  Tickets sold through Tixel will always be sold at face value.  Tixel advise that they take steps to protect buyers and selllers.   They do apply fees to sellers and buyers, but we believe that are a reasonable cost for the security of mind they provide.

You can apply to become a volunteer with Blazing Swan.  If you are accepted to volunteer at our event and successfully complete your training you will be offered a ticket at a reduced cost.  These tickets can not be sold by you or transferred to anyone else.  You can return them to Blazing Swan for a refund prior to the event if you need to do so.

Approved Theme Camps, Artworks or Mutant Vehicles are each offered a limited number of tickets at a reduced cost.  If you are a crew member of any of these you might be able to access one of these tickets.  Again these tickets can not be sold by you or transferred to anyone else.  You can return them to Blazing Swan for a refund prior to the event if you need to do so.

How do I change the name on my ticket?

The name on your ticket must match the ID we may ask you to show us at the Event Gate.  We understand that for some people this is problematic.  If this is the case please contact us.

If you have simply entered the wrong name you will have to change the ticket before you arrive at the Event Gate or you may be turned away.  If it is a ticket that you bought in the public sale, you will need to ‘sell’ the ticket to yourself using the Tixel ticket reseller.  You will be able to change the name while you do this.  In this case make sure you set this as a private or directed sale, and then set the value of the ticket as low as you can go.  Tixel normally set their fees as a percentage of the price the ticket is sold and bought for will charge a minumim fee.  Blazing Swan takes no responsibility if you forget to set this as a private sale, and someone else snaps up your ticket for $10 !

If the ticket is one that you acquired as a member of a Theme Camp, Artwork crew, Mutant Vehicrle crew or as an Associtaion Member you will have to contact Blazing Swan and arrange for them to change the name for you.

Are there any discounts?

Regular and Children Ticket prices are as posted on this website.   Association Members along with Approved Volunteers, Theme Camp members, Mutant Vehicle Operators and Art Team crew are offered tickets at a rate below the Regular Ticket price.

Tickets are priced to cover expenses and all surplus monies are returned to fund future Blazing Swan Events and other activities consistent with our Constitution.  Blazing Swan in a Not-for-Profit organisation.

We do not offer free tickets if it is your birthday during the event.  But we will celebrate it with you !

Where is the best place to try and find tickets if the event has sold out?

You can register your interest in purchasing a ticket with the ticket reseller Tixel. When a ticket becomes available you will be notified and have the option of purchasing that ticket.

You can check if there are any vacant volunteer roles with Blazing Swan.  Volunteers may be offered the option to purchase a ticket to the Event.

We do not recommend purchasing a ticket offered for sale on the internet by anyone other than Humanitix or Tixel, or in person.  A significant number of intending participants are scammed each year.   Note also that tickets may be cancelled by Blazing Swan if we detect that they are being sold at above face value or if we suspect fraudulent activity.

Can I buy a ticket just for the weekend?

NO.  Everyone purchases a ticket for the full Event period.  Attendees may arrive anytime or anyday after the Event Gate opens at noon on Wednesday 27 March 2023.  If you arrive late in the evening you will be required to park your vehicle in a holding area and drive up to your camp site the next morning.  Unless given specific permission, all attendees must leave the Event site by noon on Tuesday 2 April 2023.

We strongly recommend that drivers have an ‘easy night’ on Monday and get a good sleep so they are at their very best on the Tuesday.

I'm a Kulin local, is there something for me?

Absolutely.  Blazing Swan loves Kulin and traditionally invites local residents to join us for the burning of our Effigy and the light show on Saturday evening.   Day passes – for that Saturday only – will be organised through the Shire, as they are every year, and available closer to the event date.   The Shire will let locals know when that’s happening.

Note that people entering the Event with a pass provided by the Kulin Shire will be bound by the Blazing Swan Event Attendance and Tickets Terms and Conditions, a copy of which will be available at the venue where the passes are being handed out.  Prices for the day passes are set by the Shire.

I can no longer attend, how do I resell or transfer my ticket?

If you can no longer attend this event, and you purchased your ticket in a public sale, or purchased it through Tixel,  you should sell it through the ticket reseller Tixel.

If you received your ticket through your participation in a Theme Camp, Artist crew, Mutant Vehicle crew, as a result of your volunteering, or as an Association Member you can return it to Blazing Swan for a refund.  In this case Blazing Swan will not reimburse you for any fees that you might have been charged by Humanitix or Tixel.

Note that the Tixel site will shut down just prior to the Event commencement date and time, and that Blazing Swan will not refund any ticket presented in these circumstances any time after the commencement of the event.

Can I get a refund if the event is cancelled?

If our event is cancelled holders of valid tickets will be refunded where this is provided for in the Ticket and Event Terms and Conditions.

What are the Ticket transfer fees?

Please check the Tixel website.

What if I can’t find my tickets?

Your ticket will come to you as an email, to the email address you nominated when purchasing the ticket.  The sender will be Humanitix.  Check your junk mail or spam mail folders as well as your inbox.  If you still can’t see it, follow the link below:

Click this link to go to the how to find my ticket instructions

Should I bring a printed ticket?

All tickets will be emailed to you by Humanitix or Tixel. Please print this ticket, or downloaded it as an image or file on to your phone to show the gate on arrival.

Note – Due to poor mobile phone reception at the Event site, you should make sure you save your ticket to your phone as an image or file  before you leave home to avoid gate hold ups.

Make sure your screen is not cracked as this can make the bar code unreadable. If your screen is cracked we recommend you print your ticket and bring that with you.  Please protect the bar code on your ticket from prying eyes.  Don’t celebrate by posting a picture of it on the internet !

What is the deal with wristbands?

When you arrive at the Event Gate and present a valid Ticket you will given a wrist band which will be secured on your wrist.  This wristband must remain secured on your wrist for the duration of your attendance at the Event.  If your wristband becomes damaged contact Blazing Swan and bring the damaged wristband and proof that you hold a valid Ticket and we will arrange a replacement wristband.

Anyone found onsite without a wristband may be asked for proof that they hold a valid Ticket, and may be expelled from the Event site.  Under 18’s wearing an Adult wristband may be expelled from the event site, along with their parents or guardians and siblings

Blazing Swan takes no responsibility for what might happen if you continue to wear ALL your wristbands from your attendance at all of our previous events.  But we will be impressed.

Who do I contact if I have a question about or problem with tickets?

For all your ticket enquires, please contact the Blazing Swan ticket team at tickets(at)blazingswan.com.au   If you are on the Humanitix Event page you can use the ‘Contact Host’ button to send us a message.
