Not your regular festival, actually not a festival at all...

...this is not a passive experience where everything is planned, orchestrated and pre-packaged by the event producers, and attendees just come and enjoy the show. In fact, the exact opposite is true...

You are Blazing Swan

YOU create the city, interaction, art and the performances.
Ultimately, you are the “experience.”

Participation is at the very core of Blazing Swan

At Blazing Swan the people who attend are not mere “attendees,” but rather active participants in every sense of the word; they create the city, the interaction, the art, the performance and ultimately the “experience.”

Theme Camps

Your theme camp should create an ambience, a visual presence, in some way provide a communal space or provide activity. It may be the anchor for a larger event taking place.

If you wish to have specific camp site placement at the event or have your camps activities included in the “WTF!?” guide, then you need to register as a theme camp.

Theme Camp Registrations will open shortly

Mutant Vehicles

A Mutant Vehicle is a unique, motorised creation that shows little or no resemblance to its’ original form, or to any standard street vehicle. Mutant Vehicles are radically, stunningly, and safely modified from their base vehicle. Sometimes the whole vehicle is made from scratch.

If you are interested in bringing a Mutant Vehicle to Blazing Swan, please read the Mutant Vehicles page for licensing and criteria information.

Art Installations

We welcome all participants to create art at Blazing Swan. No matter how big or small, art of all kinds dramatically adds to the atmosphere of Blazing Swan.

You can place your artwork in your camp, but if you want it to live out in the city or on the lake, we require you register it with us. Please read the Art Installations page for guidelines and registration information.

Performances

You may be a juggler, a musician, a singer or a fire dancer, or perhaps you are a costume or theatrical designer. At Blazing Swan, you will find an audience!

There is no “Main Stage” as such for you to book in your performance, however, there is plenty of opportunity to show off your talents. Please read the Performances page for more information.

Fire Art Guidelines

The mission of the Jilakin Rock Fire Department (JRFD) is to protect life and property through the development and application of fire protection engineering, enforcement, and education. This mission involves establishment of a fire-safe environment for the citizens of Jilakin rock city (JRC), an environment that serves as a foundation to be built upon and molded by Blazing Swan Inc, Artists and the community to meet their specific needs. The Blazing Swan Fire Chief is able to achieve the objective of public fire safety because organized onsite fire teams will carry out enforcement of the minimum fire safety standards.

The JRFD team will endeavour to support Artists, The Community, and Blazing Swan Inc, in an ever evolving and changing landscape that is JRC, in new and innovative ways to not hinder, impede, or stop artistic expression.
